Extra Info:
From June to September 1887 H.N.Ridley explored the island of Fernando de Noronha and discovered a cactus apparently different from Cereus insularis. Dardana de A.Lima named it Cereus ridleii and it was described as such in Backberg, Die Cactaceae 4: 2352. (1960).
But by all what we know there exist only one cactus on this island, Cereus insularis.

Cf. Br. & R l.c.: It is the most eastern natural distribution of all cactus species in America.
