Distribution:
Mexico, Veracruz, Acultzingo in 1800-1900 m height of a limestone cliff in black humus mostly in the shade of the accompanying agaves and shrubs. At Tecomayuca, at an altitude of 1400 m, in the limestone gravel of small rock channels in humus-rich soil, as well as at Nicólas Bravo and San Bernadino in Puebla.

Extra Info:
M. acultzingensis differs quite distinctly from the well-known species of the series Elegantes respectively Supertextae by their stout spination and the dark carmine, relatively large flowers.
