Type Locality:
Mexico, Tamaulipas, near Caracoles and in the State of San Luis Potosi near Matehuala, on humus soil in shady and moist limestone rock fissures and cracks by Friedrich Ritter discovered in 1929.
Distribution:
Mexico, in Tamaulipas near Caracoles and in Luis Potosí near Matehuala, Charco Blanco and El Huizache, in fissures of limestone soils, shaded by larger plants, in hollows and pockets with organic deposits or in humid humus, at about 1600 m.
