Extra Info:
Sulcorebutia steinbachii v. hoffmanni was first mentioned by Backeberg as Lobvia hoffmanniana. This description was invalid as well as all combination based on it. Augustin and Hentzschel finally came forward with a valid description. Above La Villa the plants mostly flower red and yellow. Some populations come up with violet flowers while bicoloured, yellow and violet flowers can be seen together in other places. The later described S. cochabambina is one of the violet flowering forms and S. veronikae is a yellow flowering one.
