The location given in the first-description (Sucre) is completely wrong. We assume that Brandt used a plant received from K. Knize with his field-number KK1567 from Aiquile for the holotype.
It should be noted that the name “albissima” is very misleading, because within the KK-material as well as among later collections there is rarely a “very white” spined plant.
