The original Rebutia tiraquensis v. longiseta sensu Cárdenas has long flexible brown to amber spines. Even at the type-location, it mixes with black spined forms, which are dominant on the hill across the road. Such black to brown spined plants, called Rebutia polymorpha by Cárdenas, can be found anywhere near the road between Rancho Zapata and Kairani at similar altitude.
