The nomenclatoric situation of this taxon is a little bit confusing, because the species S. verticillacantha has been included under S. steinbachii. Appropriate modifications should be made. Maybe it even makes sense to treat it in species rank as Hentzschel & Augustin have done it for Weingartia (see above).
