Extra Info:
The typical form only grows on level ground on the pass near Hacienda Barranca. Only a few meters from the plateau, there are already rather different forms and this proceeds throughout the whole area. Nobody is able to tell, where var. vasqueziana ends and e.g. var losenickyana starts. Even near Ravelo plants can be found which almost look like S. vasqueziana v. vasqueziana or ssp. alba growing together with typical var. losenickyana. When Rausch talked about the muck hill (Misthaufen) of Sucre he exactly wanted to express this situation.
